Geoff Potter is not just a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst; he’s a trailblazer in the field of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) with over 30 years of dedicated experience. His journey is a testament to his passion for helping others and advancing the practice of behaviour support.

Specialising in Constructional Non-Linear Multi-Element Behaviour Support, Geoff has a keen interest in non-aversive situational support and understanding the nuanced effects of different environments. His extensive research in these areas has significantly contributed to the field, and he’s committed to sharing his findings through publication and presentations. Geoff has been featured in peer-reviewed behaviour support journals and has spoken at numerous international conferences, spreading knowledge and insights that benefit both practitioners and the communities they serve.

As a respected advisor for the IABA International Research and Education Foundation and a board member of Behaviour Support Practitioners Australia, Geoff plays an integral role in shaping the future of behaviour support. He’s also an advisor to Autism Swim, where he brings his expertise to support individuals with autism in a unique and engaging way. His insights have even reached the wider public through appearances in popular media, including the ABC television series Dreamhouse, where he addressed the challenges faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities when moving out of home.

Geoff’s academic credentials are impressive, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master of Studies in Psychology, a Graduate Certificate in Educational Research, a Master of Education in Applied Behaviour Analysis, and a PhD. His commitment to lifelong learning and professional development is evident in his qualifications and ongoing contributions to the field.

As the joint founder and Chief Clinical Officer of The Centre for Positive Behaviour Support, Geoff leads a nationwide service that supports over one thousand individuals with behaviours of concern. His vision is clear: to empower and uplift those he serves, ensuring they receive the compassionate and effective support they deserve.
