Dr. Rebecca (Becca) Beights
Is the Director of Research at the Centre for Positive Behaviour Support (CPBS). Based in Melbourne, Becca oversees research support for organisation initiatives, CPBS clinical research dissemination, and supervision and professional development for behaviour support practitioners (BCBA and CBA).
Becca’s academic qualifications include a doctorate (PhD) in Special Education with a concentration in autism and applied behaviour analysis from Texas Tech University and a masters (MS) in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University. Prior to her role CPBS, Becca worked as a Research Clinician at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and a Clinical Research Supervisor for students and practitioners at Texas Tech University. She was also the content matter expert for an Australian grant-funded workforce training project.
Becca’s interests and experiences emphasise collaboration, education, and person-centred practice. Her work focuses on the development and evaluation of behavioural assessment and intervention strategies. Becca’s research interests emphasise ethical decision-making, technology-mediated approaches, and graduate-level teaching and training. Across all opportunities, Becca aims to embody the CPBS mission of caring action to improve lives in meaningful ways.
