The 4 Key Components of CPBS' Positive Behaviour Support Framework
1 - The Assessment Phase
This includes a thorough behaviour assessment to understand the person’s experiences, perspective, and what they need to achieve their goals.
2 - The Support Plan
A support plan is developed from the assessment, including proactive strategies to prevent behaviours and reactive strategies with a situational management plan for responding effectively when behaviours occur.
3 - Mediation
This involves assessing and including strategies in the support plan tailored to those responsible for its implementation. It identifies key participants, potential barriers, and any necessary training or systems needed for success.
4 - The Outcomes
At the heart of our approach are the outcomes we aim to achieve. MEBS support plans are designed to reduce behaviours of concern, ensure lasting change across settings, and, most importantly, enhancing quality of life. Through careful evaluation, our practitioners ensure each plan is effective and tailored to the individual.
