At CPBS, we offer a comprehensive early intervention pathway for children under the age of 9. Our practitioners are experienced in skill development, learning promotion, and fostering positive behaviour change.

Our early intervention strategy is customised to meet the unique needs and goals of each child and their family. Each child receives a personalised learning and development plan that includes individualized goals and recommendations for ongoing support. We base our recommendations on a thorough understanding of your child, your family, and your capacity to engage in services.

The goals and therapeutic strategies are determined through assessments and direct
interactions with the child, grounded in Multi-Element Behaviour Support. At CPBS, we
emphasise the importance of relationships and quality interactions over rote drills. We leverage
each child’s strengths to guide our teaching methodologies.

A learning and development plan is a detailed report summarising the assessments conducted with you and your child. It outlines therapy goals and ongoing therapeutic recommendations to achieve the priorities you set for the next 12 months.

The initial meeting typically lasts 2 hours, where we conduct a semi-structured interview to understand your child’s strengths and needs. From this session, we start building your plan and provide ongoing support recommendations. Some children may require additional in-person sessions for a truly individualised plan. A typical learning and development plan cycle takes about 8-10 hours including both report writing and in person sessions.

We believe that parent and family engagement leads to better outcomes. We offer direct stakeholder training and support you in implementing strategies and teaching skills.

Each session is driven by play and the relationship built with the child. The specific strategies and teaching methods used will be based on your child’s skill set, interests, and family values. Examples include acceptance and commitment therapy, naturalistic teaching, structured teaching, and task analysis.

Our team includes practitioners with extensive experience in addressing complex needs and behaviours of concern. During the intake process, we aim to match you with a practitioner experienced in the specific challenges you share. Our practitioners are skilled in using non- aversive strategies to reduce behaviours of concern.
