Matthew Spicer
Director – Clinical Training Services
Matthew has more than 25 years of experience in Multi-Element Behaviour Support, with a strong focus on enhancing quality of life for people with complex support needs.
Matthew's professional background spans both government and private sectors, including senior clinical management roles within disability and out-of-home care services. His work has focused on developing practical, evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support approaches that improve outcomes for individuals, families and support teams.
Matthew is a founding member of Behaviour Support Practitioners Australia and the National Therapeutic Residential Care Alliance. He is also a member of the National Advisory Group for Seasons for Life and serves as an advisory board member for the IABA Foundation.
Matthew has presented at national and international conferences on Positive Behaviour Support and Trauma-Informed Practice and has contributed to book chapters and peer-reviewed publications in these areas.
He has a particular interest in reducing restrictive practices through Non-Aversive Reactive Strategies and is an experienced speaker, trainer and supervisor in Positive Behaviour Support.
