How PBS is Implemented at CPBS:
Our implementation of PBS typically involves a collaborative and multi-step process:
- Building a Collaborative Behaviour Support Team: This crucial team includes the individual themselves, their family, key caregivers, and relevant professionals from CPBS.
- In-depth Person-Centred Planning: We work closely with the individual and their team to identify their personal goals, preferences, and needs, forming the foundation of our support.
- Thorough Functional Behavioural Assessment (FBA): Our specialists conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand the specific reasons (functions) behind the challenging behaviour.
- Hypothesis Development: Based on the FBA, we formulate a clear hypothesis about the precise function of the behaviour, guiding intervention development.
- Development of a Tailored Behaviour Support Plan: A detailed and actionable plan is created to prevent, manage, and teach new skills related to the identified behaviours.
- Continuous Monitoring and Outcome Evaluation: We regularly monitor the effectiveness of the plan through data collection and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes and ongoing progress.
