PBS Training - Foundations Workshop

This PBS training full-day workshop trains school staff to understand and support students with behavioural challenges using Positive Behaviour Support, Multi-Element Behaviour Support, and Non-Aversive Reactive Strategies to create a more inclusive learning environment.

PBS Training -  Full Day Workshop

This PBS training full-day professional development workshop is designed to equip school staff with practical knowledge and tools to better understand and support students with behavioural challenges. The PBS training begins with an overview of common behavioural concerns seen in classrooms, including executive functioning difficulties and their impact on learning and participation. Participants will explore the importance of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and why embedding this approach into school systems, such as PBL, leads to more inclusive and supportive environments.

The workshop also introduces the framework of Multi-Element Behaviour Support, offering a structured and evidence-based method for addressing challenging behaviour. Staff will learn Non-Aversive Reactive Strategies to respond safely and effectively during behavioural crises, without using restrictive or punitive practices. Real-life case examples help bring theory into practice, and the day concludes with time for questions and group discussion. This workshop supports school teams in building a consistent, proactive, and respectful approach to behaviour, helping to create a positive learning environment for all students.

  • Introduction to the framework of Multi-Element behaviour support (2 hours)
