How Our Behaviour Support Practitioners’ Model Works

When you engage with our behaviour support practitioners in Sydney & NSW Regions, the process is collaborative and structured, typically involving these key steps:

1. Initial Assessment

A practitioner will visit the individual needing support to conduct a thorough assessment of their behaviours. This involves direct communication with the participant and gathering valuable insights from those who spend the most time with them.

2. Positive Behaviour Support Plan Development

Following the assessment report, a comprehensive positive behaviour support plan is created. This plan provides clear, practical guidance on how to best support and manage the behaviours, focusing on building new skills and meeting needs.

Transforming Lives with Positive Behaviour Support

Positive Behaviour Support at The Centre for Positive Behaviour Support Sydney & NSW Region Team is about transforming quality of life. We focus on building new support strategies, developing essential skills, and fostering positive behaviours to meet individual needs and goals. We build a personalised plan with you and your support team, ensuring a true partnership.

This plan is grounded in a deep understanding of:

  • Your existing routines, values, social connections, and personal strengths.
  • Any current behaviours that are challenging for you.
  • Your needs and finding new ways to meet those needs that don't require challenging behaviour.
  • The positive behaviours and skills you aim to develop to achieve the goals that truly matter to you.
